Print and Publication Design: The Art of Khurja Pottery

Invite

For the invite, I was inspired by the way a finished piece looks after it undergoes creation. Here, I tried to incorporate how a small bowl looks after being inverted on a table, and subsequently look at how the motifs interact in such an angle.

In print, this invite will be in A4 200gsm paper, with a matte finish.
Brochure

For the cover of the brochure, I tried to look at how the shape of the ceramic and the motifs came together. A close-up of bowls in a lateral manner helps showcase how both of the elements come together to affect the flow of the pattern in the finished product.

This brochure was designed to give the reader a gateway to the wonderful world of the pottery of Khurja and encourage them to interact with the pieces in the setting of an exhibition. The inside of the brochure was an attempt at simplifying the process.

In print, this brochure would be made available in A4 170gsm paper, complete with a glossy finish.

Feature Spread

To highlight the cultural history of the town in which this pottery emerged, I also created a magazine spread which would reflect the origins and the long tradition of art and craft which have moulded Khurja pottery into its present form.
Tote Bag

An additional collateral designed as a souvenir to take away from the experience. The motif which was used in the invite is used here as well.
